The basics
What is ManiFest?
ManiFest is a Chrome extension that helps DJs capture, apply to, and track entries for music festival contests. You open ManiFest and a side panel appears alongside whatever you're browsing — your pipeline on one side, the web on the other. It stays with you as you navigate around the web via your tabs and searches.
Save a page or post for a contest you want to apply to, click the + Capture button, and it becomes a card in your pipeline, deadline and requirements attached. When you're ready to enter, ManiFest opens the application form and fills it in from your Profile Vault — the details, bio, EPK, photos and links you've saved into it. No repetitive manual labor of drag and drops, searching for the right mix every time, getting distracted and walking away completely. The autofill assistant walks you through the steps — you watch it happen, then you hit Submit.
What problem is it actually solving?
The bottleneck for entering contests for most DJs isn't recording and sharing their mixes — it's that opportunities are scattered across Instagram stories, Linktrees, festival sites and boutique portals, each with its own form asking for the same fifteen things. Deadlines pass while the tabs are still open. ManiFest removes barriers to entry, so the number of contests you enter is limited by the opportunities you capture, not by how much form-filling you can stomach in one sitting.
Who is it for?
DJs and electronic artists entering festival contests, competitions and open calls. It assumes nothing about your level — the pipeline works the same whether you're entering your first competition or your fiftieth.
What does it cost?
The extension is free, and always will be — including unlimited use of the autofill assistant. There's no per-application charge and no cap on how many contests you enter. Charging by the application would punish exactly the behaviour the product exists to encourage.
Can I install it right now?
ManiFest is in closed beta. Sign up on the homepage and you'll get an install link as places open up.
How it works
How do I capture an opportunity?
Click the ManiFest icon in your Chrome toolbar. The ManiFest side panel opens down the side of your browser and stays open while you browse — you're not switching tabs or leaving the page you're on.
When something's worth entering, click + Capture in the panel. ManiFest screenshots whatever page you're looking at, reads the details off it — event name, dates, submission link, requirements — and creates a card in your Open column. You don't type anything.
That works on anything on the web: a festival site, saved Instagram posts, a Linktree, a Google Form, a portal nobody's heard of. If you can see it in your browser, you can capture it. That's the whole point — contests get announced on IG, Facebook, X, Linktree, wherever a promoter's audience actually is. There's no central listing for any of it, so ManiFest doesn't care where you found it.
What if the page only has a "link in bio"?
That's common enough that ManiFest handles it directly. When a capture produces a pointer instead of a real form link — a Linktree, "link in bio", "DM to apply" — the card is flagged and ManiFest fetches the pointer page to find the likely submission links, then shows you the candidates. You pick the right one or paste your own. It never guesses silently.
What does the autofill assistant do?
You click Start on a card and ManiFest opens the application form in a normal, visible browser tab that you watch in real time. It reads the form's fields, matches them against your Profile Vault, and fills what it can. Nothing happens in a hidden window.
Does it submit applications for me?
No — and it can't. The assistant fills the form in and then stops. It has no way to send anything. This isn't a setting you could switch off by accident — the final click is always yours. It's your name on the application, and the last word on what goes out under it stays with you.
What happens when it hits a question it can't answer?
It pauses and asks you. Contest forms are full of one-off questions ("why do you want to play this stage?") that no stored record could contain. The card shows a needs-you indicator, you answer, and the fill resumes where it stopped.
What's in the Profile Vault?
Everything application forms repeatedly ask for, held in one place: artist and legal name, pronouns, city, bio, genres, contact details, website and socials, plus links to your EPK, rider, photos and mixes. You fill it once — and you don't have to fill it all up front. ManiFest asks for the missing pieces at the moment a form actually needs them, so the vault gets deeper every time you enter something. Once it covers what forms keep asking for, the repetitive part disappears — you're only ever answering the one-off questions.
Does it work on every form?
Most of them. It handles ordinary web forms — Typeform, Google Forms, festival portals. Some will still defeat it: forms built inside another page are a known gap. When it can't fill something it tells you rather than failing quietly, and you can finish by hand — the card still tracks it either way.
Your data & Google permissions
Why does ManiFest need my Google account?
Because that's where your data lives. On first run ManiFest creates one spreadsheet (your pipeline and your Profile Vault) and one Drive folder (your capture screenshots) inside your own Google account. You own both. There is no ManiFest-side database holding your pipeline — if you walked away tomorrow, your data would still be sitting in your Drive, readable without this extension.
What can ManiFest actually see in my Drive?
Only what it made. ManiFest can open the spreadsheet and folder it created for you, and nothing else in your Drive — and that isn't a promise we're asking you to take on trust, Google enforces it. It doesn't ask for your Gmail, your contacts, or your calendar.
Why does it ask for access to all websites?
Two features need it, and neither runs without you clicking something first:
- Capture — contests get announced anywhere, so the extension has to be able to screenshot whatever tab you're looking at. There's no fixed list of domains that could cover it.
- Autofill — application forms live on arbitrary domains, so the assistant has to be able to run on the page you sent it to.
On any page where you haven't started an application, ManiFest does nothing at all.
What leaves my computer?
- Capture screenshots go to ManiFest's server to have the details read off them. They aren't stored there and are never used to train anything. The image itself is saved to your own Drive.
- The form's questions — what each field is asking for — go to the same server so ManiFest can work out which of your details belong where. The rest of the page isn't sent.
- An anonymous install ID and daily usage counts, for abuse prevention. It isn't linked to your name, email or Google account.
Your spreadsheet and your Drive files never reach our servers.
Do you share my Profile Vault with festivals?
No. ManiFest fills in the festival's own form — the answers, the links, the files it asks for — and then you review it and hit Submit. Anything a festival receives, you sent them.
If you switch on submission tracking, ManiFest also keeps a copy of your public press-kit details — name, photo, bio, genres, city, public links — and a note of what you applied to, so it can tell you when a festival receives, opens or listens. Your email and phone are never part of that. It's off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it back off in Settings.
Does the extension track me?
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising SDKs in the extension. (This website uses standard analytics, described in the Privacy Policy.)
How do I delete my data or revoke access?
Delete the spreadsheet and Drive folder from your own Google account whenever you like — it's yours. Revoke ManiFest's access entirely at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which kills every token immediately. If you enabled submission sharing and want that data removed too, email privacy@manifestdj.app.

Can I request a feature?
Yes, same address — and during beta it carries real weight. The roadmap is small enough that a good suggestion from someone actually entering contests can jump the queue.
